For many years I have been making lovely gifts out of ceramics that just need to be painted one more time & then fired a last time.  There are probably  pottery shops in your area & they have a wide range of plates, bowls, & cute shapes to paint.  When our boys were young they enjoyed painting mugs for their dad & even bowls for their cat or dog.  The cat’s dish has his name on it plus other items cats enjoy, like fish bones, or the dog like-wise.

For older people it’s nice painting Christmas gifts such as turkey platers.  An individual mug is a neat keepsake too.

You can check if there’s maybe a horse dog show in your area that needs a championship trophy.  Maybe something like that would be appreciated.
